The garden is located at St. Matthew's Episcopal Church, 4110 River Road (map).

Garden plots (14’X 20’) are available to neighbors for $60 (March through February). A sliding scale may apply for low income applicants. Funds are used to pay for water, tools, and costs to develop and maintain the garden site.

St. Matthew's is providing the gardening area as part of the church’s ministry. The partner organizations are gathering donations of funds and tools to start and improve the garden. "We are all very excited about seeing the garden come to life," said St. Matthew's pastor Patti Hale.

On June 3, at 2 pm, there will be a workshop and demonstration of soil building at the Santa Clara Community Garden, 4110 River Road in the Santa Clara neighborhood of Eugene. Composting of several different types will be described and demonstrated, including: lasagna (layers), deep lasagna, hugelkultur (wood), vermiculture (worms) and building a hot compost pile. The workshop will take about 90 minutes, and is free to the public.

Santa Clara Community Garden is a partnership between Santa Clara Community Organization, St. Matthews Episcopal Church, and Huerto de la Familia. The garden is located about two miles north of Beltline Road, at St Matthews Episcopal Church, next to a bus stop for easy access. The church parking lot is a Park-and-Ride for bus riders.

Contributions to the community garden for tools, development, and workshops may be made to the Santa Clara Community Organization (SCCO Garden Fund). Please see the community garden website for more information: goodsoil@santaclaracommunitygarden.org
